Newly elected Australian Labor Prime Minister Kevin Rudd (dark jacket) stopped for a chat with a young couple on a shopping trip in Manuka, Canberra, Sunday morning, 24th February 2008. He went into a local music shop and bought a CD of Carmina Burana.
And yes, there were a couple of bodyguards hanging around in suits, talking into their sleeves - about ME!

Love his "too short" pants. He's quite impressive as a World statesman. I'm in awe.
Too harsh? ;-)

@Stu: Give him time, he's just stepped into the job - he'll be quite an asset on the world stage to us because he speaks Chinese fluently - he was a diplomat prior to politics. You know, STU, I'm amazed you noticed those short pants too! I put a note on the image on my Flickr page - "Someone buy this guy some new chinos!" Thanks for the visits, your comments are great!!
