On the eve of National Sorry Day, at the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Canberra. The next day , February 13, 2008, the Parliament delivered the official apology to Australia's indigenous peoples for the "stolen generations" = the children forcibly removed from their families.
This kind man showed considerable patience and tolerance while I fumbled with the camera and kept him from eating his mango.

I really like the message on his shirt, and the patience he showed with you is a conncetion to the patience the aboriginals had to show simply to survive.

Great portrait. I've certainly heard about the official apology. But I hadn't heard that it's called National Sorry Day. I like it!

@Damon Schreiber: It was the FIRST official apology in Australia's history; a great day, but just the beginning. Thanks Damon.
