Beginning today, new series:
At the International Multicultural Festival, Canberra, February 8-17, 2008.
Members of the Descendance Aboriginal Dancers.
This is a BIG week for all Australians: the new federal Labor government meets this Wednesday in Canberra with leaders of the Aboriginal communities to deliver the long-awaited official apology - "SORRY" - an attempt to heal the past wrongs inflicted on indigenous peoples for the "stolen generations" = children forcibly removed from their families.
These performers are members of the Descendance Aboriginal Dancers.

Seeing them in town in their native garb ( they are wearing something besides paint right ? ) is quite a contrast in imagery . That in itself makes this photo a real eye grabber . The story is pretty good too.
