OK - so the horizon slopes down towards the left in this photo too; that's because the lake is crooked! It's a man-made lake!

The boat will also glide more easily downwards, but as a matter of fact everything in Australia is upside down, so sloping lakes can't be a miracle over there :-). Nice picture by the way, I wish I was on the deck.

@Jerry: Now that you mention it, I DO take a lot of pics of transportation of one kind or another - boats, cars, bikes, trucks, but it may surprise you to learn that the area of Canberra and the lake is a valley no larger than about 30 square kms - a paradise for cyclists and cycling - and so we tend to go round and round in small circles!
