This is a 1952 Austin Princess. The boot has an elegant "P" initial, and the bumper bars are embossed with the word "Princess".
This Austin belonged to Princess Diana's family, the Spencers (the late Princess Diana, who died tragically in Paris car accident). It was brought to Australia last year and is now used as a hire car for weddings. I happened to spot it parked outside St Andrews Church, Canberra, where its owner, dressed as a chauffeur, was waiting for the newly weds to emerge. He told me the Princess Diana story, and then he laughed, so ... (?) Do you believe him? I know I WANT to.
Processing: B & W tone processed, and watermarked. I know there are many problems with this photo and the way I've processed it, so please be frank and direct with your criticisms. I want to hear them.
This is the last in the series of historic cars. There are dozens more in my Flickr Pro Collection - Vintage Cars set - including a long shot of this car.
Thank you everyone for your keen interest and fun commentary!

I really like this shot. It's just so in-your-face, and I also like the symmetry of the composition. There's a nice range of tones, from the stark blacks to the bright whites. Nice!

@Dan Hauk: Thanks Dan - I'm pleasantly surprised by such positive feedback!
Beautiful B&W and strange story.... I like your neat B&W here. Its austere mood works well with the solemnity to this car...

@Still: There is indeed a solemnity - I was most reluctant to stop photographing and only dragged myself away finally ... thanks so much Still!
I like the reflection of the trees that shows how shiny this princess is. Some may say that a little crop from the left would make it better and maintain symmetry, but I like it this way with that bush far. Thanks for your visits to my blog and also VFXY. I appreciate that a lot.

@Jerry: I'm sure there are professional editions of such events - I saw photographers with very large commercial equipment - no, I'm just a happy snapper, but thanks anyway for the encouragement, Jerry - much appreciated!
