Sometimes I need an image from a television broadcast to accompanying my news blogs and can't wait for the media to publish theirs, so I just take a shot from the TV screen.
This was taken during the ABC broadcast of Senator Helen Coonan, Australian Federal Minister for Communications, Information Technology and Arts, delivering the 2006 Andrew Olle Media Lecture on Nov. 17.
The difficulties are obvious though interesting: rolling black bands, vertical dotted lines, and flare.

@Adiemus: The rolling band accentuates that feature. I chose this shot from a dozen or so clearer ones because of it.
sometimes its worth to buy a capture card for this like this. but this is the cheap and fast solution with some disadvantages
