@Zak Billmeier: Thanks Zac. You know, following your suggestion, I tried a horizontal flip, and suddenly all the wierdness disappeared. It just looks like a camera held next to a car window, and the lack of fingers isn't an enigma because the viewer knows that the camera is being held by a righthander just out of frame. Left unflipped in this venue, the EXIF data next to it in the right sidebar is a sort of accompaniment to the camera, as if the whole photo is about a portrait of the A530. Even so, not my fav shot, but thanks to your suggestion, I'm no longer baffled!
